BEST FALL FAMILY PHOTO SPOTS

Fall in Central Florida doesn't come with changing leaves, but it does come with something better for photos: cooler evenings, softer light, and sunsets that turn every lake into a backdrop. If you've been thinking about updating your family photos before the holidays, this is the season to do it.

I'm Anthony, a family and lifestyle photographer based in St. Cloud, and these are the spots I keep coming back to with families around Osceola and Orange County.

1. St. Cloud Lakefront Park

This is home base for me. The pier and the open view over East Lake Toho give you wide, clean sunset shots, and there's plenty of grass for little ones to run around between photos. It's perfect if you want relaxed, natural moments instead of stiff poses.

Best for: families with young kids, golden hour sunset photos

2. Kissimmee Lakefront Park

Right on Lake Toho, with a long walkway along the water and big trees for shade. It gives you a mix of water views and greenery in one session, which means more variety in your gallery without changing locations.

Best for: families who want variety, multi-generation groups

3. Lake Eola Park, Downtown Orlando

If you want a little city energy, Lake Eola is a classic. The fountain, the swans and the downtown skyline make for photos that feel uniquely Orlando. Weekday evenings are calmer than weekends, so I usually recommend those.

Best for: couples, families who want a city look

4. Kraft Azalea Garden, Winter Park

Tucked along Lake Maitland, this garden has huge cypress trees, Spanish moss and a lakeside spot with classic columns. It feels like a hidden gem and photographs beautifully in soft evening light.

Best for: elegant, timeless family portraits

When to schedule your session

The best light is the last hour before sunset, often called golden hour. In October and November that usually means starting around 5 to 6 PM, and the lighting is warm, soft and flattering on everyone. Morning sessions work too if you have early risers.

A quick note on permits

Some parks and gardens in Central Florida require a photography permit or have specific rules for sessions. When you book with me, I check that ahead of time so you don't have to worry about it.
